The Youth at Holy Cross, led by Kellie Wilson & many volunteers, are very active in our parish. They meet every Sunday morning at 10 AM and every Wednesday evening at 6 PM.  They go on several mission trips and field trips throughout the year.  Should you desire any additional information about this ministry please contact Kellie at youth@holycrossep.org or call the church office at 864-967-7470.

Holy Cross Episcopal Church Youth Announcements

  

 “Hot Headlines” - 6:30-8 pm in the Meeting Hall.Snacks will be served. Please eat dinner before you come. This activity is designed for youth who are seeking a more in-depth discussion about how Christianity intersects with the latest headlines in the news. Adult help is needed. IMPORTANT Parent and Youth Meeting” – August 29th from 12:30 – 2:30 pm in the Parish Hall. Lunch will be served. This is an important meeting for ALL youth and parents who attend Holy Cross or for all youth and parent who youth attend youth group activities. We will be discussing our move to a program structure youth ministry and how this transition will affect you and youth group activities. Please contact Kellie at youth@holycrossep.org or 967-7470 if you plan to attend so we know how much food to provide.

 

Make Gift Boxes for Children with Cancer - All sixth and seventh graders are invited to help create gift boxes for children in the Oncology Department at Greenville Memorial Hospital  We will meet at the church on Wednesday, September 1st from 5:45 - 8:00pm.  We will be going to Dollar Tree in Simpsonville to buy gifts for our shoe boxes.  Each person needs to bring $10.00 and a shoe box If you wish to attend please email Samantha Amick at amickfamily2002@att.net.

 

Labor Day Fun Festival Service Activity - God’s Pantry is sponsoring a Water Play area at Simpsonville Labor Day Fun Festival.  Volunteers are needed to help man four water games (water balloon relay, balancing a water balloon on head, water balloon toss, and tossing tennis balls into water bucket) from 4:00pm-8:00pm on Saturday, September 4th.  We will be collecting a can of food or a small fee to play each game.  If you are interested in volunteering contact Samantha Amick (amickfamily2002@att.net).

 

Releases For All Youth Needed – A copy of the 2010-11 Holy Cross Permission & Release Form  is attached. We must have this form on file for youth or adults to participate in any of this school year’s activities. (Please make sure to attach a copy of your insurance card with the release and have the release notarized. Please contact Kellie at 967-7470 if you need a list of available notaries at Holy Cross.) Forms should be turned in at or before the August 29th Parent and Youth Meeting. (Those youth who participated in the rafting trip have already completed the form).

 

Rafting Trip EvaluationPlease Complete and Return the attached youth evaluation form if you went on the rafting trip earlier this month by emailing it to Jill at hswinden@peoplepc.com or mailing it to the address below. Thank you for your feedback!

 

Community Building Activity for all youth on Wednesday, September 1st from 6:30 – 8 pm in the Meeting Hall. For more information, contact Katrinnia Lee at 561-2279.

 

SAFE church training –  Our church requires that all youth leaders and chaperones be SAFE church trained. For this reason, we ask that all parents attend SAFE church training in case they ever assist with a youth activity. The next SAFE church training is Sunday, September 12th at 1:30 pm at St Michael’s Episcopal Church in Easley. If you need to be SAFE church trained and would like to attend this training session, please contact Kellie at 967-7470 or youth@holycrossep.org .

 

Bible Presentation and Prayer – On Sunday, Sept. 12th at the 11:15 service, we will be presenting Bibles to our new youth. We will also be saying a prayer over them and their parents. If you would like your youth to receive a Teen Bible and to participate in this special prayer, contact Kellie by Sunday, Sept 5th at 967-7470 or youth@holycrossep.org .
